Education is compulsory for children in Ireland from the ages of six to sixteen. The Irish education system is made up of: primary, secondary and tertiary school. The school is open for all the children, unless you choose to send your child to a private institution. Children don't have to attend school until the age of six. To the primary school are 8 years, where you learn: languages, maths, enviroment and scientific education, physical integration ecc..
Education in Ireland is free at all levels. Students wear uniform. The secondary school is made up of: junior cycle, of 3 years, transition year, of 4 years where you learn work activities and senior cycle, of 2 years. After you must choose if go to tertiary school or not. Tertiary school is made up of:  universities, institutes of technology, colleges of education and Private Colleges.
The different between italian school system and irish school system are little. We start with the nursery school at the age of six, directly with primary school. We don't have to wear uniform and we do, in all, 16 years at school and they do 17 years.
