                                 THE ORIGINS OF SURNAMES
The surname indicates the family of membership of a person. In Italy it is used to write the surname after the name of the person. The first surnames in Italy there were at the end of 900 century and to use it were only the noble. Then between the tenth and the eleventh century all people had a surname.

                      MY SURNAME PELLEGRINO
The surname Pellegrino was first found in 1129 with Papiro Pellegrino, from a noble family in Palermo. The meaning of Pellegrino (in English "pilgrim") is a person who makes a journey to a special place for religious reasons. This surname in my town Mondragone is enough known.
